PUNCTUATION outmaneuvers
Legal Eagles in Junior Championship
PUNCTUATION celebrates their 10-8 victory in Syosset-Woodbury Park last night.

Syosset, NY, 16 June 2004--PUNCTUATION sealed the fate of the Legal Eagles last night at Syosset-Woodbury Park in a close game with the home team taking the playoff championship by a score of 10-8. Pictures and stories will be posted as soon as they are received. Click the Scoreboard link above to see the final standings for the Junior League. According to SYAC rules, teams that did not make up rained out or otherwise posponed games were each given a loss. It was previously reported that the National Division had ended in a tie and it surely did on a won-loss basis. But in the event of a tie, SYAC rules dictate that the teams are compared on how they fared versus each other. On that basis, the Syosset Superstars were declared winners in their division. The playoffs began Monday, June 7th according to the schedule below, which has been updated nightly with results. Participation trophies (for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers) and framed team pictures will be distributed at each team's first playoff game. |
