Mr. Pickle captures 2006 Pony crown

Syosset, NY 15 June 2006--Family Health Acupuncture made it all the way from a last-place regular season finish to the Pony League Championship game Tuesday evening when they had to face the 10-0 Mr. Pickle team that was determined not to be FHA's next stunning upset victim.
2006 Pony League Playoff Champions "Mr. Pickle" and their coaches pose with their trophies.
"Family Health Acupuncture" and their coaches were the talk of the town this week. Here they pose with their trophies.
The game started off with Cinderella team Family Health Acupuncture winning the coin toss to decide home field advantage, and ended with Mr. Pickle showing why they went undefeated this season. With a stifling defense and timely hitting, they proved too much for the FHA squad.

With Katie Cirella leading the way (2 home runs, flawless defense) and everybody chipping in, Mr. Pickle overwhelmed Family Health Acupuncture in the Championship game in the Pony League Tuesday night at Syosset-Woodbury Park. Katie completed her Pony League career an astounding 27-0 including playoffs (14-0 last year with Top Banana). Elizabeth Choi and Kirsten Mullin also contributed some big hits for the Pickle squad. Samantha Morley was her usual efficient self, catching everything thrown to her at first base.

For FHA there were stellar fielding plays made by Lindsey Casale, Rachel Janowsky and some key stops made by Josie Jampolis and Grace Lang. FHA should be very proud of the way they plowed through three other teams in the playoffs after an 0-8 regular season.
