Juris has the right Solution!

JurisSolutions, Junior League Champions say "Never give up!"

The Junior League Runners-Up score early and often in the championship game. Feldman Lumber Flames had a fabulous year, going 7-2-1 in the season and reaching the finals in the playoffs.
Holly Roselle made the Junior League finals special with her beautiful rendition of the national anthem.

Skylar Halpern pitched a gem for Juris Solutions, with Kyle Shouldice behind her at shortstop.

Michelle Hatami’s pitching was outstanding throughout the season and the Junior League playoffs. She’s backed up by Rachel Kaufman.

There was a terrific turnout at the game, including parents and players from many of the other teams that didn't make it to the finals. It was a beautiful night and the fans were treated to an exciting, well-played game.

Rachel Gold, who drove in the two runs that won the game for Juris Solutions, plants a final foot on the plate to end the SYAC spring season.

JurisSolutions, down 7-0 scored six runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning to pull within 7-6. Then, in the stunning conclusion of the upset, JurisSolutions scored two more in their half of the sixth to win, 8-7. The coin toss loomed large.

18 June 2007--Inhale Yoga was the champion of the American Division. Feldman Lumber Flames was the champion of the National Division. About a week ago, we asked, "Will they meet June 18th in Syosset-Woodbury Park for the Playoff Championship?"

No! Due to permit conflicts, the game had to be moved, so it was played at the Hap Harris Stadium (also known as Hap Harris C) in the corner behind the High School and South Woods Middle School.

As it turns out, one of them, Feldman Lumber Flames, were there Monday, having beaten Nassau Radiologic Group by a score of 4-1. But Inhale Yoga was dispatched in a rout by JurisSolutions, 10-1.

As the crowd gathered Monday evening, umpire Jim Koumou went through the ground rules with the coaches while commissioners Eric Gilman and Steve Heller looked on. A coin was tossed, with Feldman Lumber Flames' coach Scot Liebeskind making the call of "heads." It came up "tails" and JurisSolutions' coach Lauren Halpern elected to have home field advantage. Then the national anthem was sung by former SYAC player Holly Roselle, Eric threw out the ceremonial first pitch and the game got underway.
