Pony League Fields, Permits & Directions
On this page are permits--in pdf format--for the fields used by the Pony League in 2007. You may download them to your computer's desktop (or pre-specified download folder) simply by clicking on the link. Please note that this year, the School District has streamlined the permit process slightly; unlike in previous years, there is now only one permit per field, covering weekdays and weekends.
J. Irving Baylis School
In the first map below, the J. Irving Baylis Elementary School is located in the triangle formed by Venus Road, Woodbury Road and the Northern State Parkway, just west of the 135 interchange.

Long Island Expressway, coming from east of Syosset
1. Get off at South Oyster Bay Road, Exit 43 exit (first after Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway) and turn left at the light onto the Expressway Service Road, known here as Terrehans Lane.
2. Pass Stop sign and proceed to traffic light on Woobury Road.
3. Turn right on Woodbury Road
4. Go over Northern State Parkway
5. First traffic light is J. Irving Baylis School. Turn right into school and park. Fields are in the back.

Long Island Expressway, coming from west of Syosset
1. Get off at South Oyster Bay Road, Exit 43 exit (right after cutoff for Northern State Parkway) and proceed past the light.
2. Go straight across South Oyster Bay Road, bearing right so as not to get back on the L.I.E. This is the Service Road, known here as Terrehans Lane. Follow steps 2-5 above.

Coming north on South Oyster Bay Road in Plainview
1. Turn right at Woodbury Road intersection (Amoco, Exxon, 2 shopping centers).
2. Baylis School is on the left just after the third traffic light.
3. Turn into school and park. Fields are in the back.

Coming south on South Oyster Bay Road
1. Turn left at Woobury Road intersection (Amoco, Exxon, 2 shopping centers).
2. Baylis School is on the left just after the third traffic light.
3. Turn into school and park. Fields are in the back.
BE Baylis East (with permanent backstop and infield) The J. Irving Baylis School is on Woodbury Road, just north of the Northern State Parkway.
BW Baylis West
Baylis East (with the portable backstop) The J. Irving Baylis School is on Woodbury Road, just north of the Northern State Parkway.

The "Near" field is immediately behind the main building at Robbins Lane School, which, in the map above, is located in the diamond-shaped area ordered by Robbins Lane, Oakwood Drive, Martin Drive and Jerome Street. The "Far" field is across centerfield from the "Near" field.

PV Parkway Village
This field is located at the rear of the Greenfields Shoprite supermarket in the Plainview Shopping Center. You may enter at either end (i.e., from the road between the Mobil station and The Bakery or from the road between the dry cleaner and the entrance to the car wash on Woodbury Road.
No permit required
VS Village School
Located on Convent Road approximately 200 yards from Jackson Avenue in the town of Syosset.

Please note that this permit is only for Fridays (with exceptions noted below) and only for two of the three fields behind the school.
